Terrestrial Research
A number of research projects are underway at Harkness focusing on terrestrial animal ecology and forest ecology.
Algonquin Wolf Research:
Wolves in Algonquin Park have an interesting history, more so now that they appear to belong to the eastern wolf species (Canis lycaon). This work is based out of Harkness and is providing some unique and important findings about their ecology, population status and structure. Read about Algonquin wolf research here.
Black Bear Ecology:
Research on black bear movements, habitat selection and population biology is underway in Algonquin Park based out of Harkness Read more here about the bear research.
Population and Landscape Ecology of Mammals
